At Couch Penny Ensemble, we are committed to bringing a voice to characters who are crackling with intensity, brimming with the deepest wells of passion, and who are far too clever for their own good. By harnessing this intelligence, passion, and wit, we aim to create theatre that is whip-smart, visceral, and deeply truthful.
We strive to illuminate the darker depths of the human experience, bringing a voice to characters that resonate dangerously within our own lives. We believe that confronting one's own demons can be a catharsis; and through this exploration we hope to shine a light on the darker common threads of the shared human experience. We hope this resonates with our audiences, as it is our belief that the power of theatre lies in its ability to bring people face-to-face with the raw, unfiltered aspects of their own humanity.
